I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I completed my degree at Northwest Nazarene
University in 2021 with an emphasis in clinical mental health. I started employment with
Children’s Supportive Services (CSS) in the spring of 2022 as a therapist. During my master’s program, I interned at CSS and was able to experience CSS’s staff members’ commitment to providing quality person centered care and maintaining high standards of ethics, which I value
and appreciate and believe is important when assisting clients with meeting their goals through services. This is one of the reasons I chose to pursue employment with CSS. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, children, and their families. I like to use a strengths-based approach while assisting clients with addressing and resolving challenges that they are facing. I view the context of the client’s presenting issues from the lens of Systems Theory and how the environments and systems that they are interacting in with others may contribute to the issue and/or provide support and resources for the client. I enjoy helping my clients learn healthy skills to manage depression, anxiety, ADHD, panic disorder, behavioral issues, emotion regulation;
and improve communication, social, and boundary skills. I use psychotherapy methods from Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness and breath work practices to help alleviate physical and emotional stress. I enjoy learning new skills to expand the “toolbox and tools” that
could benefit and support the needs of my clients. My current focus of delivery of services is through telehealth. In my free time I enjoy working on crafting beading projects and diamond art, photography, bird watching, and love spending time in the outdoors gardening, walking, and
enjoying nature. I enjoy having four legged children such as dogs. I have two adult children whom I enjoy spending time with whenever possible.

My name is Marie Samuelson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker. I graduated with my master’s degree in social work from Northwest Nazarene University in 2014. I started at CSS in 2007 as a bachelor’s level intern and although I have worked at a few other agencies, I kept coming back to CSS because I enjoy it here so much. Although I wasn’t sure about working in mental health when I started my career in social work initially, I realized that this is where my passion is. I enjoy working with clients and helping them learn and practice coping, social, communication and mood management skills to improve their quality of life. I have training and work with clients utilizing play, individual, family, trauma and behavior therapy. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and 2 dogs.
